Sounding Crisis
Sounds and Energies in Times of Climate Change
Invitation to Exhibition & Lecture Performance by Ania Mauruschat
26. – 28.9.2025 from 11:30 to 15:30 at Agerupgård, Samsø

Since 2021, the project Sounding Crisis has been exploring how sounds act as energies in times of climate change—worldwide. From the battle cries and songs of Fridays for Future and Extinction Rebellion activists in Copenhagen and Sydney, to the Songlines of Aboriginal peoples in Western Australia, and the frame drum and Northern Lights of the Inuit in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland), the project traces how sound helps us navigate ecological transformation.
In this exhibition, Ania presents key insights from her case studies, showing that sounds are far more than alarm signals in times of crisis. They carry vital energies that help us cope with the challenges and root causes of climate change.
Join us for a special lecture performance where Ania connects her findings to Samsø as Denmark’s renewable energy island.
🗓️ Saturday, September 27, 2025 🕒 15:30–16:30 📍 Agerupgård, Agerup 6, 8305 Samsø
The event will be followed by a reception with drinks and snacks. To help us plan, please register by Wed., September 24 via email or phone. If you would like to visit the exhibition outside the opening times, don't hesitate to contact us.
